FAQs

Can J. Tribble make my sink base in a specific size?

Absolutely! Although we have standard sizes in each style, any of our sink base styles can be built to your required measurements.

How are the wooden tops protected from water?

Although, we don’t recommend using a wood top for a sink base, all American solid wood and English veneered sink bases are sealed with a 2-part lacquer. Cottage Collection pieces have a special pre-catalyzed lacquer in the paint to help resist water. Properly sealed tops are generally not affected by water if monitored and maintained properly, but they can be instantly damaged by harsh bathroom cleaners, bleach, fingernail polish remover, abrasives and tooth whitening gels.  For longevity, we always recommend the use of a stone or fabricated top.

What if I want a stone top?

Our sink bases are made without tops, but all will support a stone or fabricated top. In fact, we recommend the use of a stone or fabricated top with our sink bases, especially when using an undermount sink.  At present, J. Tribble does not sell stone tops, but we are happy to answer any questions you might have to assist you when having your stone top fabricated in your location.

Can I use an under-mount sink with the wooden top?

Though it is not recommended, it is possible to use an under-mount sink with both the American Solid Wood and the Cottage Collection; however, we suggest an over-mount/drop-in style sink for the protection and longevity of the top. We do not make wood tops unless specifically ordered and purchased (see wood disclaimer).
